A Little Change and Kitchen Inspiration

***A Little Change and Kitchen Inspiration***

Hello friends!

I bet you’ve been wondering, “What’s up”?

I only say this because I have heard from a few of you…

Wondering or worried about how things are going with the new move to Arizona.

Sedona Arizona

In all truth, it’s been a bit overwhelming.

As you know, I am a DIY’er and enjoy sharing all of it with you.  My hope is to share what I’ve done and learned in hopes that you will try it too.

Lately,

it’s been slow,

like watching paint dry

I think about you everyday and about this little blog,

Slipcovered Grey.

I question whether paint drying is something you are interested in?

My thought is… surely not!

Then I got to thinking… maybe you want to know what’s brewing in my head, what direction I am going to take with this house?

Arizona House I always feel like I have to show you finished projects, but let’s be honest, this previously “neglected home” is not going to be complete for a very long time.

With that said,

as I attempt to change this dreary old and grey home into a beautiful place again,

I will share other areas of interest as well.

You will still get the same DIY house related information,

but also my favorite recipes,

Easy Fruit Pizza

travel adventures,

Slipcovered Grey

and small projects.

Please know that I don’t want to lose you.  You are the reason I write.

So… stay tuned for all of that.

In the meantime, let’s dive into the kitchen.

Here’s where I am headed:

Kitchen Inspiration Collage

1.  Subway Tile Backsplash

2.  Quartzite or Marble Island Counter

3.  Black/Charcoal honed granite or silestone perimeter counter

4.  White Dove Walls and Cabinets

5.  Chrome Pendant Lights over Island

6.  Ballard Designs Counter Stools from my previous kitchen

7.  Grey Painted Island or Butler Pantry cabinets

8.  Grey/Brown interior doors

9.  DIY table (Restoration Hardware style)

10.  Caned back french chairs

11.  Linen Drapery Panels

There you have it.

A little glimpse into my vision.

What do you think of my kitchen inspiration?

Remember, this, is what I am dealing with.

Have a wonderful day!

Enjoy!

Every. Single. Moment.

  1. Angie!
Glad to see you in my email, was wondering what you have been doing!! I know you must be overwhelmed and rightly so, but I really do LOVE your new house, it has great potential. Your “inspiration board” looks really good and I can almost see your house being evolved in your choices! I think you have some great ideas and choices, I can’t wait to see you start. It may take time, but you will do an awesome job, just as you did in your last home. Take care and I will be anxiously waiting to see what you do .

    1. Thanks so much Joanie! I woke up to your sweet comment and you definitely made my day! Thank you, thank you… for commenting and reading Slipcovered Grey. I really appreciate it. Have a beautiful day!

    1. Betsy! Thank you! I know you have been on your own journey fixing up a house, which looks great by the way. I hope to have more fun things coming to your inbox soon. 🙂

  2. Welcome, Welcome, WELCOME to sunny AZ!!! Glad to hear you are adjusting. It’s only taken me…20+ years, lol! Seriously, when I moved here (I’m in the East Valley) everything was so deserty. Over the years, I’ve done every imaginable decor and FINALLY chose what fit best for me and the family. Looking forward to seeing/reading more about your designs in the new house. Glad to see you pop in to say “HI”!!!

    1. Thank you, Christine, for the welcome. Wow! I would love to hear what you have done with your place. I do know it is extremely dusty here and it gets me a little nervous with keeping it all clean. Ha! You must love it here at 20+ years. So far, it’s been pretty great for us – sure can’t complain about the sunny weather. Thanks for saying hello and following along. It’s great to meet a new friend in PHX. 🙂
