Meet Jolly J. – The Elf
There is someone really special that visits our home every Thanksgiving and stays until Christmas. His name is Jolly J. He is our little “Elf on the Shelf” that likes to appear in the strangest of places. I never knew there were elves on the shelf until my son, Charlie, informed me of his elf from school. Charlie told me these elves are magical and asked the elf from his classroom if he would bring an elf to our home.
The next day, this little guy appeared…
He’s super cute,
has eyes that seem to look at you wherever you are in a room,
and gives you a big elf grin from ear to ear.
We try to catch him moving, but man, he is good…
he doesn’t flinch…
an inch!
How does he do that?
We don’t know!
We find him in the weirdest positions.
Here you see him hunched in a drinking glass.
See, he looks at you everywhere you go.
You may find him hanging from chandeliers,
sitting on your Christmas tree,
on top of shelves high and low,
hanging out with stuffed animals,
and just plain watching you…
everywhere.
Last year,
we found him in a candy bowl where he ate the candy and made a big,
mischievous mess!
BUT…
We love every little inch of him. When he comes we cheer,
when he leaves we wish he was here all year.
You do have to mind your manners, however,
because he has a job.
A big, big, job!
He works for Santa, and every night he flies quickly to report if you are bad or good.
So… look out,
because
he may be watching you too!
and hopefully, for your sake,
he is…
Enjoy!
Angie
Do you have a little elf that spends time at your house?
I would love to hear all about him.
I wish we had these when my kids were little, looks like so much fun!
They are a lot of fun! Charlie and Josh love waking up to find the elf in a new spot every morning.
Hi Angie, There’s been no sighting of elves here but I sure enjoyed hearing about your elf!
Oh, I am glad you enjoyed it. They sure are fun… even for mom and dad!
Awww, so much fun! I haven’t seen him here yet! I know he must be watching though! Santa needs cute Elf helpers!
The Elves are always watching Betsy. You don’t have to worry though, you are always nice, Santa will be good to you!
