One Room Challenge – Challenge Accepted
Hello Friends! I’ve been working hard around here, but unfortunately, don’t have any completely finished rooms to show you yet.
I know, it’s crazy!
It’s been a long journey in this new house, but it’s getting there.
With that said, I have wanted to join in on the One Room Challenge for many seasons now, but the timing hasn’t been right. This week I am taking the plunge and joining in. It would be so great to have a room completed in this house.
If you aren’t familiar with The One Room Challenge it is a great opportunity to follow along with some incredible designers and bloggers as they totally transform a room in six weeks.
The fun part is watching the progress along the way and when the six weeks is up… wow! You won’t believe the talent and transformations… simply amazing!
I am actually joining in this challenge as a guest participant a little late too, a week, but I didn’t want this opportunity to pass me by again.
So please cheer me on as I try to accomplish all of this in 5 weeks.
So, what room will I be transforming?
Our main floor powder room.
It’s super small, but one of the rooms in our house that is used every day and guests use it often.
This room is okay, just not my style. I’ve had a vision for the redo the moment we moved into this house. It’s been done in my mind for two years, but now it will be officially done in
six weeks five weeks (fingers crossed).
The bathroom is super teeny, so I hope this picture will give you an idea of the bathroom.
It definitely needs a little character, don’t you think?
The tile is a dark imitation travertine, the toilet and pedestal sink are a bit too victorian, and it just needs to be brightened up a bit.
And here is my inspiration.
I’ve always loved hex tile and used it in my last home. It has such a classic, yet vintage look to it that can be modern too.
The old toilet and sink will go and be replaced. I’m planning to plank the walls (which will add some fun texture), do something super fun to the ceiling, and add a dark charcoal paint around the perimeter.
Natural wood will be brought in, a little whimsy, and some sparkle too.
I can’t wait to show you my vision come to life in these short weeks.
Until then,
wish me luck.
I have to order tile and get to work.
Thanks, in advance, for your encouragement along the way.
Enjoy!
Every. Single. Moment.
Angie
