Progress – Week 3 One Room Challenge

I’m beyond excited to share with you the progress of week 3 with the One Room Challenge.

You can learn more about the One Room Challenge here.

Last week I shared with you raw sketches of the laundry room and this week things are moving along quickly as laying the tile is underway. If you’ve been around here awhile, you know how much I have a love for European Design. There is something special about the history that inspires me. I’ve always noticed the beautiful marble tile floors and the detail that encompasses their true design aesthetic. One of the patterns noticed throughout Europe is the diamond pattern flooring. It’s beautiful to me. I knew Joe and the boys (well, literally everyone!) thought I was crazy doing a black and white checkered flooring. I know my vision and because no one else could see it, I thought, hey… why not have my dream floor in a laundry room? So here we are… installing it, and I cannot be more thrilled with how it is looking.

Where we are going with color…

Let me give you a glimpse of what direction we are headed.

The Work Begins…

The laundry room is a long and narrow space so we were able to remove the lower cabinets. Because time was an issue, we decided to leave the upper cabinets and remove them later. The rest was left to the tile guys.

This gives you a better idea of the space as well. Let me tell you, they worked quickly and I am a giddy girl watching the progress. (Look at the new door… happy dance! It’s so much better – and the natural light is perfection)

This is the first view of the tile going in and I am loving it. The refrigerator will be placed in the corner where he is laying the tile. It will have a built in look with a built in surround.

This room is going to look completely different and the fun part is seeing my vision come to life. I am excited you are around for the journey.

Because you are here, I want to know about your projects. Are you updating a room currently? Interested in seeing more ideas? Definitely see more ideas here and visit the participants and guest participants of the One Room Challenge. It is quite a fun experience and super exciting to see all of the room transformations take place.

Let us know in the comments what room you are working on or if you plan to work on a room. We’d love to cheer you on.

Until next time…

Enjoy!

Every. Single. Moment.
