Southern Living Idea House 2012 Christmas
Can I just say the Southern Living Idea House is gorgeous. I love the farmhouse style and this is screaming it. They did a wonderful job of mixing the old with the new. Hopefully you all have a copy of Southern Living Magazine (August 2012) where you can view the before and after of the Idea House.
My parents were in town for the week and my mom has a natural knack for decorating, so I thought I would treat her to some fun. When we arrived we had no idea they were already decorated for Christmas. Let me tell you, what a treat this was! I am going to spend the next few posts showing you how they transformed this beautiful farmhouse into a Christmas oasis. A little early for Christmas, but hey, it’s never too early to start thinking about creating for the holidays.
Walk in the front door and experience Christmas in the Living Room.
The furniture was kept very neutral, while pattern and texture was added in the window treatments, pillows, and accessories.
The galley kitchen created an open living area for great entertaining. I could envision a Christmas party where you could accommodate a house full of people to celebrate.
The Dining Room is beautifully furnished. Wall to wall windows allow natural light to fill the space. What a beautiful space to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. There are many rooms in this home, outside and in, where a cup of java could be enjoyed with a friend. This home is relaxing and full of space to entertain.
Right off the kitchen/dining room area is a cozy Keeping Room. The high-back sofa was to die for, I had to sit in it to really see if it was as comfortable as it looked. It was super comfy. Imagine reading your favorite book here. (Sigh). This sofa designed by CR Laine.
The view to the right of the Keeping Room is this beautiful porch.
Drool worthy…
Well, there is a peek of the Idea House decorated for Christmas.
I am excited to share more with you in future posts.
What a beautiful home!
Enjoy!
Angie
***I was allowed to take photos after asking for approval to photograph for my blog viewers. I was given the go ahead as the magazine has been distributed. It never hurts to ask to photograph, they can say no, but hey they might say “yes”!***

wow, puts me in the mood for xmas! love the way they decorated the island in the kitchen with the silver candle hurricanes. Festive and non-obtrusive. Also love the square wreaths in the windows. Every room is just gorgeous.
Hey Heather,
It does put you in the mood for Christmas doesn’t it? I have so many more pictures to share… I took a lot as I know not everyone can travel to Georgia to see the home. If you are here before December you should go, it will really get you inspired, it did me.
Angie, I love this house! I haven’t seen it decorated for Christmas yet, but did tour it earlier this summer. Thanks for sharing it! It looks wonderful! I love the wreaths! Thanks for stopping by my blog too. You come up as a non- reply and I don’t know how to fix it! 🙂
Betsy,
I love it too! You may just have to go back – so many great ideas there. As far as the no-reply… maybe it’s something I did? Let me know if there is something different I need to do. Thanks Betsy!
