Southern Living Idea House 2012 Cont…

Sometimes when taking pictures I question whether I should be taking so many?  I sure did take a lot of the Southern Living Idea House and they probably wanted to kick me right out.  My goal?  To make sure I have the best pictures for you to see while staying true to the vision of the design team.  I hope I am accomplishing that.  You can view the first series of photos here.

Most likely you have the magazine so you have seen the bedrooms.  I am going to show you them here too, but also show you some details that inspired me.

The Master Bedroom Suite…

Here is a closeup of the bedding.  The linens were well thought out with texture, use of different color tones, and patterns.

Outside of the Keeping Room was a hall to the garage and stairway to another bedroom.  I called this the In-law Suite.  In the hallway housed a few windows and underneath these windows was a wall of metal hooks.  What a great alternative to a mudroom.

The colors were vibrant and fun.  Notice the bedding, lots of pattern, color, and texture.  The wall space was utilized which was perfect for flanking the bed with built in bookshelves.  In front of the bookshelves were understated bed-side tables.

Look out the back window and you would see this…

A perfect place for outdoor entertaining.

On to the laundry room…

On the opposite side of the house were two more bedrooms…

Below, a mirror was hung horizontally over the dresser.

This vignette was well decorated with vintage items.

My next post will focus on Christmas.  I can’t wait to show you the details.

Enjoy!

    1. It is a great place to visit. I took so many pictures so I could remember it all and share it with you. You have to go in person though to see it decorated for Christmas. Simply beautiful.
